This course requires you to hold a valid Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) or equivalent first aid qualification with at least 12 months’ validity remaining. Proof of this qualification must be provided prior to attending.

If you do not already hold a valid certificate, you can add the EFAW course to your package during the booking process.

The Refresher course is the official replacement for the previous Top-Up Course for Security Officers. It reflects updated SIA content and is now the official and mandatory qualification for licence renewal. If you're searching for a "Top-Up Course" this is the current version of the course you need.

You can apply to renew your licence up to 4 months before it expires. We recommend completing your refresher training within this window to avoid any disruption to your ability to work legally.

Yes - if your SIA Security Officer licence has expired within the past 3 years, you're still eligible to take the refresher course. If it’s been more than 3 years, you’ll need to complete the full Security Officer course again.

This is a 1-day course, including the EFAW qualification. You will also need to complete some pre-course home eLearning, which reduces your time required in the classroom.

Thanks to our blended learning format, your time in the classroom is shorter than many traditional courses, while still meeting all regulatory standards.

The Security Officer training begins with pre-course, at home eLearning, which is completed at your own pace. Then in the classroom session, you will complete a combination of online exams, practical demonstrations and scenario-based exercises.

All modules are designed to ensure you’re fully compliant with current SIA standards and confident in your role.

You’ll typically receive your results immediately on the same day, so you leave the course knowing your results outcome.

Don’t worry, we offer free resits and full support. You can usually retake your exam on the same-day.
